  • Management Accountant

    Overview

    To continue to support and facility both this and further growth we are creating roles and are currently looking for a Management Accountant to join our Central Bristol based finance team. We regard ourselves as a dynamic company where professional development and teamwork are highly valued and rewarded.

    With the group’s ambitious growth plans, there is a need for an additional management accountant within the business to work alongside our existing management accountant. We are changing our accounting and operating systems, introducing automation and streamlining processes.  There is a need for faster and improved reporting, while maintain quality and accuracy, all in the midst of constant change and growth.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support Finance Director and Management Accountant with monthly management accounts including:
      • maintaining fixed asset registers and calculating depreciation
      • finance lease interest calculations
      • balance sheet reconciliations
      • cost centre reconciliations
      • group accounts consolidation
      • audit schedule preparation
    • Provide various analysis and information on project progress and budgets.
    • Calculate quarterly work in progress
    • Review quarterly VAT returns for accuracy
    • Review CIS returns
    • Reconcile purchase ledger accounts as necessary to resolve complex issues
    • Provide operational support to the accounts team (this may include providing cover for team leader during her maternity leave and raising sales invoices with retentions)
    • Support and develop the team
    • Ad hoc projects and technical research

     If interested in this role we anticipate you will have:

    • Qualified Accountant or Finalist (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
    • Previous management accounting experience
    • Previous experience of working within a fast paced and high-volume accounts department
    • Evidence of excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Curiosity and an ability to problem-solve
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Standard Excel skills expected (PIVOT tables/Lookups). Advance Excel knowledge preferred
    • High level of efficiency, accuracy and accountability
    • Ability to work independently and proactively seek process improvement opportunities

    You will ideally have:

    • Prior construction industry experience would be beneficial
    • Prior experience of Sage 200 or Sage 50 beneficial;
