Brief

UNISON Cymru is the biggest union in Wales, with offices in Cardiff, Swansea and Conwy.

Lancer Scott was successfully appointed as Principal Contractor for the four-storey refurbishment at UNISON Cymru’s headquarters in Cardiff, with the aim of delivering modern office accommodation totalling 12,500 sq. ft in the heart of the Welsh capital.

Solution

Through meticulous planning and scheduling for a prompt delivery, our project team started on-site with a full strip out across all levels of the building.

The fit out needed to evolve beyond a traditional workspace comprising of solely desks and meeting rooms, to create an inspiring and efficient working environment.

Setting the tone for the workplace, a new meet and greet arrival area was delivered, featuring calm, earthy tones and soft seating. Our client wanted additional solutions for collaboration, as well as focused work areas, with the space now including more choice of meeting space varying in sizes, as well as collaboration booths and touchdown desks.

Moving through the building, the workplace is connected via a series of zones and refreshment points. Outside of the building, the front entrance has been given a glow up with new canopy, signage and hard landscaping.

Featuring all new services and plant, our team refreshed the overall look and feel of the working environment at UNISON Cymru to meet their modern-day brand standards. Activists and union representatives now have a great place to work from.
