Queen Charlotte House

Brief

Lancer Scott was appointed to carry out a CAT A+ fit out within Queen Charlotte House, a multi-tenanted building in the heart of Bristol’s central business district, located just off Queen Square and backing onto Welshback. Our task was to fit out level one at 2,800 sq ft, and transform it into a dynamic, marketable space that would attract modern-day occupiers.

Solution

The creative vision behind the aesthetic was to echo the vibrancy and fun associated with the cultural diversity of Bristol, whilst balancing a calm and focused environment in which to work.

The space benefitted from an abundance of natural light to both front and rear elevations, and so we designed and built a layout to enhance this.

Natural hues and finishes were specified to offer a soothing but bold backdrop, whilst blush painted soffits and kitchen combined with terrazzo effect LVT and warm, softer shades of pink and green carpet tiles provide a playful look and feel.

The occupier-ready space includes an outside courtyard, where placement of the cafe-style breakout area was key to ensure a seamless flow between inside and outside without impacting the open plan office environment.

Surrounding the kitchen and break out space you’ll find core meeting rooms and collaboration areas, which form a natural partition between work and rest. With occupier wellbeing in mind, fresh planting was also carefully selected and placed throughout the open plan.

All furniture and associated connectivity have been chosen to offer tenants agility and autonomy to work where they want for the task in hand.

We also replaced and installed new LED sensor lighting throughout to ensure sustainability was at the forefront of the new office design.

The result? A harmonious, future-proof scheme that will appeal to prospective occupiers. The contemporary fit out will help the landlord attract future tenants looking for an agile workspace in the heart of the city.
