3, Rivergate

The Brief: 

3 Rivergate is a remarkable refurbishment of a 75,000 sq ft, six-storey office block located in a prime spot on Temple Quay in the heart of Bristol.  

The vision for this project was to reinvent a once outdated office building into a commercially successful Grade A space with clear identity, longevity and occupier appeal; one that would promote collaboration, interaction and wellness. 

The Solution: 

On behalf of the client, and working collaboratively with the project team, CBRE, AWW, and Method Consulting, the CAT A programme of works on this project was extensive, and all floorplates were designed with versatility in mind for occupiers to easily personalise and adapt their environments to suit modern hybrid working styles.  

The high specification refurbishment also included a new meet and greet area, break out space and semi-private meeting zones, secure cycle store with electric bike charging, and a modern amenity block with end of journey facilities including new showers and drying room. 

The scope of works continued outside and included new cladding to the entrance, bespoke signage, solar energy panels, fifth floor terrace area, and generous landscaping with communal space to encourage outdoor collaboration, meetings and relaxation.  

3 Rivergate is now an accredited example of sustainability balanced with positive user experience. With strong ESG principles at its core, this workplace is not only adaptable and durable but promotes the wellbeing of its occupants, whilst caring for its environment.  

Following the refurbishment, the building was awarded BREEAM Excellent, WiredScore Platinum, Fitwel ‘2 star’ and an ‘A’ EPC rating. 3 Rivergate was also recognised as a finalist in the Best Refurbished/Recycled Workspace category at the 2025 BCO South West and Wales Awards.
